There are so many different kinds of Korean food out there and according to my co-workers I am actually a little picky. One thing I know for sure though is that I LOVE TTEOKBOKKI. Have you guys had it before?! I'm not sure why but it’s one of my favorites. The best is when restaurants serve it as an appetizer, how awesome!

One of our favorite foods to get delivered to the office during our lunch break is: Jajangmyeon (짜장면), or Noodles in Black Bean Sauce. For those who are unfamiliar with jajangmyeon, it is a Chinese Korean noodle dish that is topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang (춘장, a salty black soybean paste), diced pork (or other kinds of meat) and vegetables. Jajangmyeon dates back to as early as 1905, when it was introduced in a Chinese restaurant in Incheon Chinatown that was run by an immigrant of China. The then restaurant is now the Jajangmyeon Museum. The meal is easily found in Korea, places in the states (We’ve had it on tour in LA, to Chicago, to New Jersey), and is relatively cheap and delicious! Let us know if you have ever tried jajangmyeon or your thoughts on trying it! P.S. April 14t h is known as Black Day in Korea, and it is a special day where single people who did not receive any gifts on Valentine’s Day or White day get together and have jajangmyeon together.
